Septorhinoplasty

Along with esthetic nose operation, the crooked part in the middle of the nose can be fixed. In the middle part of the nose, there can be crookedness without an injury and can be formed structurally. Middle part that does not fit in the nose curves due to early closure of the structure or continuation of the enlarging of the aortic portion in the growth period of the nose. The medical term for this illness is called “nasal septum deviation”. Respiration problems and crookedness in the middle section of the nose can form due fractures because of nose traumas. Septorhinoplasty operation is performed under general anesthesia and the operation takes approximately 2-2.5 hours. If only a deviation will be fixed, it will take nearly 1 hour. During the operation, the crooked septum parts can be fixed during the esthetic operation.

If deviation operation had been performed on the patient who needs septorhinoplasty, if the cartilage, which will be used to support the nose, are removed and thrown away due to curvature, the second operation will be harder to perform. Taking extra cartilage from the ear or ribs can be considered if extra cartilage is needed.
