The Outward Folding of the Under or Upper Eyelid (Ectropion)

Is mostly seen in the lower eyelid. The looseness of the under eyelid allows the lid to sag downward and therefore loses the function to protect-moisturize the eye. Facial paralysis and old age are the main reasons. Hanger style (sling procedure) which supports the under eyelid can be treated with operation.
