Palate Tears

Palate tears are known as wolf mouth in the community. As it can include only the soft part of the tissue palate, it can also include the hard part of the palate along with the alveolus. In the earlier years, it was recommended to wait until the age of 2 for the bone development. In more recent years, the age of the operation is brought forward because it has been detected that patients who undergo surgery at an earlier age, have better speaking skills. Corrective surgeries are planned for pharyngeal area, if speech disorders due to insufficiency at soft tongue and not being able to blow up a balloon are observed after cleft palate surgery.
