Full Tummy Tuck

In the full tummy tuck operation; the excess skin along with the skin that has sagged is removed from the tummy level until the cesarean section line. In the class technique, the tummy skin is pulled up until the rib level. In the lipoabdominoplasty technique, the tummy skin is pulled up until the belly level. The fat tissues left under the upper skin is removed and therefore the tummy skin is thinned. The fat tissues on the sides of the tummy can also be removed with the liposuction technique, which allows giving shape to the waist. The muscles found in the middle of the tummy on both sides strengthen the tummy wall by coming closely together. The upper side of the tummy skin being pulled downward extends until the cesarean section culvert. After designating the new location of the belly’s tummy skin, a new belly hole is opened and the skin corners are determined by taking the belly out of this hole. If there is hernia in the tummy and belly area, repairment can be done during these operations. The belly wall can be supported with artificial patches if necessary. Drainage is placed under the belly to take out any bleeding or liquid accumulation. The drains are removed after 2-4 days depending on the liquids coloration and amount. A corset and thick bands to support the belly area can be worn after the operation. It is recommended for the corset to be worn day and night for the first three weeks then during the daytime in the following 3 weeks. Operation is performed under general anesthesia and takes approximately 2-4 hours and the patient stays in the hospital for 1-2 days. The patient is stood up the day after the operation and is asked to walk slouched forward for the first week so the stitches near the belly aren’t forced. The patient can start walking more upright in the following days depending on the operation areas uncomfortable feeling. There aren’t visible wound marks in the tummy area of the tummy tuck is well done. The mark is planned to remain under the underwear or bikini line. Stitches, which melt on their own, are generally used so removal of stitches is not needed.
